As many of you know, The Ian Somerhalder Bday Project was a huge succes over the last few years. We’ve raised a total of $44,000 dollars and because of the awesome relation we have built with St Tammany Humane Society, we are continuing to assist them in keeping their wonderful No Kill Shelter alive and running.

With all that said, we are now helping St Tammany Humane Society and also the Pit Crew Illinois while having some Vampire Diaries fun!

Here are the details of our event plus ticket sales are available below:

Paws 4 a Cause, an animal welfare organization committed to raising funds for animal shelters & rescues, invites you to a “Chicago Pawty”!!

Benefitting:
St Tammany Humane Society (Covington, Louisiana)
Pit Crew IL Rescue (Chicago, Illinois)

Ticket Prices: $5.00/person in advance and at the door!
Photo Op Prices: $5/person per photo!
Who?: Anyone attending Creation Entertainment’s TVD Chicago and friends/family. All ages event! Must be 21+ to purchase alcohol with a valid ID.
Where?: The Benchmark Restaurant, Westin O’Hare Chicago,
When?: Friday, April 13, ,2012; 7pm to midnight (12am)
What’s happening?: Silent Auctions, 50/50 Draw, Donations Bucket to drop in spare change, Door Prizes, Meet & Greet with other TVD Fans, Photo Ops
Special Guests: Elena and Caroline will be making apperance in attire from Caroline’s Bday Party this season. Special thanks to Brynna Rowan and Elendriel Alastair for adding some fun to the party! They are also going to be doing Photo Ops to help us raise more funds for the shelter/rescue.

Dress Code: From jeans to tuxedo/cocktail dress, your choice! Strongly suggest dressing up to match Elena and Caroline’s outfits, which will be from Caroline’s bday party from Season 3.

Join us to help homeless, abandoned and abused animals!

Important Information:

01.: Your paypal receipt is your ticket. You must print it out and present it when you arrive at the party.
02.: You can pay to enter the party at the door. But we do prefer advanced tickets so we can prepare better for the party!
03.: Once at the party, please remember to conduct yourself in a respectable manner. Anyone who causes problems or drama will be kindly be asked to leave, without a refund. Please consume alcohol responsibly if you are 21+.
04. Photo Ops *must* be purchased in advance and you must have an event ticket to get one. Photo Ops will take place between 8:30pm and 10:30pm. Photography will be done by Natalie and .jpegs will be emailed to you throughout the weekend. A signup sheet will be available during the Photo Ops so we can take your name and email address so we know who is in the photo and where to send it.

01. You can purchase tickets for up to 5 people. If more are required, please return to this page to order more.

02. Please include all attendees’ names in the text field

03. No refunds. Ticket purchases are a charitable donation. If you are from the United States and wish to receive a tax reciept, please advise once you arrive at the party.

04. It is very important that you print out your receipt and when you enter the event, make sure all people in your party are together. Once you are checked in, we will stamp your hand for party re-entry if you leave and wish to come back.

01. Photo Ops will be during a set time during the event (announced at a later date).

02. You can only get a Photo Op in advance so we can plan accordingly. You must have your paypal receipt to receive your photo op. You must also have an event ticket to receive your photo op!

03. As photos are taken, we will have a tracking sheet so people’s names and email addresses are properly collected so that you may receive your photo op via email during the weekend.

04. You can purchase as many photo ops as you like, but you can only order one at a time. Please return to this page to order more ops.

Congratulations, Ian Somerhalder! Vampire Diaries Actor Earns Humane Society’s Wyler Award

Whether he’s tweeting about freeing a caged tiger or crusading for sled dogs, The Vampire Diaries’ Ian Somerhalder (Damon Salvatore) is a tireless advocate for the world’s furry creatures. His fans and Twitter followers aren’t the only ones who have noticed. The Humane Society will honor Ian on March 24 at their annual Genesis Awards with one of its most prestigious honors, The Wyler Award. Every year, the honor “is bestowed on a celebrity or public figure for raising awareness of animal issues via the media,” according to the press release.

In a statement, Ian said, “The tireless efforts of The Humane Society of the United States to protect animals around the world has always been an inspiration to me and I’m honored to be recognized with this year’s Wyler Award.” Sir Paul McCartney, Hayden Panettiere, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi, and Kristin Davis are all past recipients of the award.

According to HSUS senior director Beverly Kaskey, “Ian is the epitome of a new kind of advocate who leverages his fame and an array of media platforms to draw public attention to animal protection concerns and other issues that he cares deeply about.”
